The Atlantic Bonito larvae, Sarda sarda, are able to feed on sea bream larvae (Sparus aurata) from an early age (9 days post hatching), showing from the beginning a better growth and survival rate than those that continue feeding on Artemia. When this larvae are submitted to discontinuous photoperiod of 16L:08D instead of a continuous photoperiod of 24L:00D, survival rates improve while growth rates remain unchanged.
